Freedom displays the air-quality flag

The writer of "Sylvan schools should raise this flag" (Aug. 27, Page B-7), should drive by Freedom Elementary on any given day. Though the air-quality flag is not raised on the flagpole, it is displayed clearly on our school's main entrance gate for all students, parents and teachers to see. This has been done each and every day for more than two years.

In addition, our principal includes the air-quality flag color in her morning message as a reminder to all students and staff. We are proud of our attendance campaign, "Every Day Counts." In fact, Freedom Elementary has the best attendance rate in our district. The Sylvan School District has done an exemplary job in raising awareness on air quality, as well as student attendance.
